2010 Band Information  
SATURDAY 13th March 2010 - THE CIVIC HALL, BEDWORTH - FIRST SECTION – 18 Bands
              
The FIRST DRAW will take place in the Contest Control Room at 10.00 am, and the band drawn number one to be on stage to commence at 11.00 am. with the National Anthem. The SECOND DRAW will take place at 12 noon.

SUNDAY 14th March 2010 - THE CIVIC HALL, BEDWORTH - SECOND SECTION – 10 Bands                            
 
The DRAW will take place in the Contest Control Room at 9.00 am, and the band drawn number one to be on stage to commence at 10.00am. with the National Anthem

SUNDAY 14th March 2010 - THE CIVIC HALL, BEDWORTH - CHAMPIONSHIP SECTION – 12 Bands                  
 
The draw will take place in the Contest Control Room at 12.00 pm, and the section will commence immediately after the Second section results have been announced.

SATURDAY 13th March 2010 -NICHOLAS CHAMBERLAINE TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE, BEDWORTH-THIRD SECTION – 16 Bands
                             
The FIRST DRAW will take place in the Contest Control Room at 10.00 am, and the band drawn number one to be on stage to commence with the National Anthem at11.00 am. The SECOND DRAW will take place at 12 noon.

SUNDAY 14th March 2010 - NICHOLAS CHAMBERLAINE TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE, BEDWORTH – FOURTH SECTION – 25 Bands
 
The FIRST DRAW will take place in the Contest Control Room at 9.30 am and the band drawn number one to be on stage to commence at 10.30 am. With the National Anthem. The SECOND DRAW will take place at 11.30 p.m.

GENERAL INFORMATION
 
(1) The results of each section AND presentation of awards will be announced at the conclusion of that section, BUT prize winning bands are again reminded to ensure that they have an adult representative to accept and sign for awards and trophies. Band Officials are further reminded that they sign and accept the trophies on the basis that they are insured and kept in safe custody for a period of TEN MONTHS (To be returned to the Regional Trophy Officer by the 7th January 2011 - or – on request).
(2) There will be no EATING, DRINKING OR FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO TAPING OR RECORDING within the performing areas, ALSO please ensure all MOBILE PHONES REMAIN SWITCHED OFF WHILST IN THE PERFORMING AREAS.
(3)   As the current rules preclude the use of a system of pre-draw; to assist bands to plan their visit the committee have again utilised a split draw system for ALL SECTIONS EXCEPT CHAMPIONSHIP & SECOND SECTIONS. This took place at the Midlands Regional meeting, a list is enclosed for those Bands affected. Draw Delegates are requested to be present 15 minutes before the draw time to receive all contest information. The draws will then take place at the precise times stated.
4) 30 BANDPERSONS PASSES will available from the Contest Control Room at each venue, on the day of the Contest to be collected by the person holding the Delegates Draw Card, please retain the Delegate Card to obtain the remarks at the conclusion of the section. Band passes must be shown before players will be allowed on stage to play.
5) There are Lift facilities at the Civic Hall for disabled persons. Bands are requested to advise the Contest Controller at either venue, if they will be requiring any assistance for disabled persons
6) Large items of percussion are being provided for the use of competing bands and maintained on stage at both venues, by Mr Adrian Evans and his team. Please hand in the enclosed percussion plan at the appropriate Draw. Bands are to use these items supplemented by their own equipment, as required by the score, but are reminded that the four-minute rule will apply.
7) Please note that the Car Park adjacent to the Civic Hall is PAY & DISPLAY and the wardens are very strict. There is ample parking at Nicholas Chamberlaine Technology College and coaches for either venue are asked to park at the College
8) PLEASE NOTE - THE CIVIC HALL WILL BE CLEARED ON THE SUNDAY AFTER THE 2ND SECTION RESULTS. Those who have purchased tickets for the 2nd Section and Bandspersons must exchange their tickets at the ticket desk for entry to the Championship Section.
9) Please do not detach the Civic Hall Complimentary seat ticket from your band pass, or the Civic Hall staff will not allow you access to the Auditorium
10) If Bandpersons from the Nicholas Chamberlaine College wish to listen to Bands at the Civic Hall, they must produce their band passes at the ticket desk at the Civic Hall and subject, to availability, will be given a complimentary ticket.
11) All children will need a ticket to enter the Civic Hall auditorium, please see the ticket desk who will adjust prices accordingly.

Regional Test Piece Workshop  
 

Cleckheaton Sports Club, Bradford Road, Cleckheaton, Yorkshire BD19 5AG.                                   

12.30.pm. SUNDAY 3rd JANUARY 2010.

   
The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators will be holding their Annual General Meeting during the morning of the above date at the Cleckheaton Sports Club. Following this meeting ABBA is joining forces with No2 Area of The National Association of Brass Band Conductors in promoting an Open Workshop covering the chosen works for Sections 4 -3 and 2 of the Regional Test Pieces for 2010.
 
This workshop which will commence at 12.30.pm, will be open to any interested party to attend. Each piece will be introduced by a member of ABBA who will outline the various points of interest from an adjudicating aspect. The Skelmanthorpe Band, Conductor John Roberts has been engaged for this workshop. Ample opportunity will also be given to members of the NABBC and anyone present to contribute both practically and verbally during the exploration of each piece.
 
It is proposed to allow 1hour 15mins. for each piece, with a break for light refreshments at some stage during the proceedings. This should result in a 4.30.pm finish.
 
There will be no charge for admission.
 
In promoting this workshop the two Associations are keen to encourage a large attendance.
It will provide an excellent opportunity for Players, Conductors, Adjudicators and all who have an interest in Competitions to exchange views on the many varied aspects of Contest Promotion, Preparation and Adjudication.
