The Midlands Area Brass Band Championships are one of the most hotly contested competions in the UK.
	Each year, over 84 bands compete in the five sections for the chance to represent the area at the National Finals in London or Harrogate, and to determine the grading positions for the following year. For many years, the contest was held at the Town Hall in Burton, but 2008 will saw a move to Bedworth in Warwickshire.
