- THREE HAWORTH IMPRESSIONS – STATEMENT & ERRATA
Kapitol Promotions has published the official errata for the Regional Championships 2026 Section 3 set test-piece Three Haworth Impressions (Gordon Langford).
This work was initially chosen by the Kapitol Promotions Music Panel as part of their wider focus to bring older music “back to life”. Panel members felt that Three Haworth Impressions was a perfect test for Section 3 bands, despite the original short score being unsuitable for use. Therefore, the Panel chose to liaise directly with the work’s publisher – Chandos Music Supplies – to ensure a suitable new score was created before the Regionals 2026 set test-piece announcement in September 2025.
The Panel chose this work in good faith, and expected the new score to be accurately prepared to a professional standard. However, this has sadly not been the case, with several bands and individuals contacting their Regional Secretaries and Kapitol directly with concerns over the accuracy of this new score.
Andrea Price (a member of the Music Panel) was recently contacted by Helen Varley, who has created a comprehensive errata for this work due to her involvement in a conducting capacity at the Regional Championships 2026. Helen has given her kind permission for this document to be published as the work’s official “errata” for the Regionals, and we would like to fully credit & thank her for this incredibly detailed work which will provide full clarity for all competing bands over the next few weeks. This document has already been shared with the Regional Secretaries, who will forward the errata to competing bands and competition adjudicators as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Tim Jones

- Information For Bands
Our Information for Bands page has been updated with further information about the contest, including the percussion layout form, rehearsal facilities and parking arrangements.
The main change this year is in gaining admission to the hall, which will be for by wrist band only for both audience and players.
Bands will be issued with wristbands as usual: supports are asked to purchase a ticket beforehand from https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/bedworth-civic-hall which our front-desk will then exchange for a wristband on the day. Once in the hall, you may sit in any seat: unlike last year, there will be no reserved seating area for players.
We have also been updating our policies, most of which have now published. The remainder will be available before the area contest.
- 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea – Water Gong
Our percussion provider, G. I. Percussion, has sent us this video of the water gong they are providing for the area contest.
It is a 24” Wind Gong and has bungee ropes attached to a stand.
